In latest news from Doon, Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC)- the trade union  of the Congress- took out a rally to the secretariat, protesting against the anti-worker and anti-people policies being followed by the BJP government in the State. Sharing details, the State president of INTUC Heera Singh Bisht said that under the saffron rule, the poor sections of the people, particularly the Dailts, have been suffering oppression and exploitation.   He also demanded the government to restore the old pension scheme. Further, he said that the jobs of those contractual workers who have been working in a department for 10 years and more should be regularised, adding that this initiative when taken would benefit 40,000 people.

Also, the agitators articulated anguish over the State government’s blatant failure in controlling the growing crimes against girls and women. Bisht particularly flagged the Ankita Bhandari murder case and the recent ISBT rape case. “The government has been maintaining   deafening silence over these horrid crimes,” he added.
