The resignation of Rachita Juyal, a 2015-batch IPS officer of the Uttarakhand cadre, from the Indian Police Service has been accepted. The Home Ministry notification stated that the President accepted her resignation, effective from the afternoon of September 16, 2025.
According to a notice issued by deputy secretary (Police-I Division) of Ministry of Home Affairs Sanjeev Kumar, Juyal is now relieved from service in the IPS. Uttarakhand chief secretary Anand Bardhan had sent a proposal regarding Juyal’s resignation to the Central government on August 25, 2025.
Following this, the Home Ministry issued the official notification. At the time of her resignation, Juyal served as superintendent of police in the Vigilance Establishment. She held several key positions during her career, including ADC to the Governor at Raj Bhawan and a deputation with the Intelligence Bureau.
She had submitted her voluntary retirement application in May, citing personal and family reasons, which has now been approved.
