The inspector general of Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) Sanjay Gunjyal met chief secretary Radha Raturi at her office on Friday and informed her about problems being faced in the border outposts.  In the meeting Gunjyal requested that the district magistrates of border districts Pithoragarh, Uttarkashi and Chamoli should issue the no objection certificates so that the pending cases of transfer of forest land for border posts are resolved. The CS assured every possible help to the ITBP.  She requested that the ITBP doctors should also provide health facilities to the local people residing in villages of border districts. The proposal was accepted by the ITBP.

Discussions on providing healthcare facilities to pregnant women and newborn babies and linking border areas with telemedicine service were also held in the meeting. Gunjyal added that the ITBP is also trying to procure local produce from the farmers.
