Jan Sangharsh Morcha demands vigilance cell to check loot of pvt hospitals

PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/ Dehradun

The president of Jan Sangharsh Morcha, Raghunath Singh Negi has demanded that the State government should constitute a vigilance cell to put a curb on the open loot of the private hospitals of the State. Interacting with the media persons at Vikasnagar on Wednesday, Negi said the prominent private hospitals are exhorting money from the people in the name of the treatment.

He said that the government should set up a vigilance cell composed of the police officers and senior doctors. He said that the cell would investigate the patients admitted in the ICU and on those who are put on ventilators and check the actual position of the patients. Similarly the cell would also put a curb on the fraudulent practices of the hospitals in the Ayushman scheme and golden card scheme.

Negi said that it is unfortunate that the government hospitals have become mere referral centres and in light of this situation there is a need to make drastic changes in the norms required for opening new hospitals in the State.

Negi also questioned the laid back attitude of Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat on the important issue of public concern. He said that it is surprising that no action is being taken on the open loot of the private hospitals. Negi threatened that if the government continued to remain apathetic to the demand, the Morcha would launch an agitation.
