Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami inaugurated the Jauljibi Fair- an annual commercial fair where local and regional products are marketed. Dhami had reached Pithoragarh on Sunday where he further reached Jauljibi from his native village in Harkhola. The fair is held at the confluence of Kali and Gori rivers and plays an important role in strengthening the friendship and business ties between India and Nepal.
A lot of enthusiasm for the fair was witnessed among the people and the shopkeepers. The fair being an annual treat did not happen last year because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Warm woollen clothes, ghee, wooden utensils, honey, etc besides the horses from Nepal are also put up for sale at the festival every year.
Cabinet ministers Arvind Pandey, Bishan Singh Chufal, Satpal Maharaj, MP Ajay Tamta and regional MLA Harish Dhami were present as special guests during the inauguration ceremony.
