The senior actress Jaya Prada has got embroiled in litigation as Egmore Court in Chennai handed her a six-month imprisonment and ordered her to pay Rs 5000 as fine on the basis of a petition filed by the workers of a theatre in Rayapeta Chennai owned by her. A per the petition, the workers were not being paid the ESI amounts due to them. While the theatre has remained shut down, Jaya Prada assured the aggrieved workers that their ESI dues would be cleared and appealed to the court to dismiss the case against her.
