Joint team of Kumaon commissioner, IG and DM inspects arrangements in Ramnagar for G-20 Summit

Kumaon commissioner Deepak Rawat along with Nainital district magistrate Dhiraaj Singh Garbyal and inspector general of Kumaon division, Nilesh Anand Bharne held a joint inspection of Ramnagar on Tuesday in view of the G-20 summit scheduled to be held there from March 28 to 30.
During the inspection, the commissioner appreciated the glimpse of Kumaoni culture on various walls and beautification works done near Kosi barrage. He asked the Public Works Department to speed up the works including the beautification of streets and main roads. He also ordered the officials concerned to remove encroachment from the roads of the stretch from Gadappu to Ramnagar. Apart from this, he also directed the officials to fix damaged power lines in UPCL’s electricity poles besides fixing those poles which are old and hanging in various locations of Ramnagar.
The commissioner also found construction materials left on private properties in many places and directed the officials to remove them soon. Rawat asked the officials to expedite all works to finish them soon and also appealed to the citizens to maintain cleanliness in the city at every level to ensure the G20 summit concludes well.
