There is a difference between being accused and being convicted. Cabinet minister Ganesh Joshi has been accused of disproportionate assets and the legal process is underway. Stating this, the Bharatiya Janata Party State spokesman Suresh Joshi said that the BJP government in Uttarakhand works with transparency and will take a decision according to the rules in the near future. Claiming that there is considerable enthusiasm among people to join the party, Joshi said that the party will expose the Congress which supports cow slaughter in Uttarakhand. The Congress should clarify whether it supports or opposes those involved in cow slaughter. Apart from this, the State government has stated that all damaged roads, drinking water supply and other facilities damaged during the rains will be repaired as soon as the monsoon ends, he said.
Addressing the media here at the BJP State office on Friday, Joshi said that the party is benefitting from the historic decisions of the Central government under Prime Minister Narendara Modi and State government under chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, in its membership campaign. Appreciating Dhami, he claimed that it is due to his efforts that the Central assistance to Uttarakhand has increased by 15 per cent compared to past years. “The image of Devbhumi has been strengthened by steps like enacting Uniform Civil Code, prohibiting illegal religious conversion and encroachment on the basis of religion along with efforts aimed at preservation of Sanatan culture. Due to the anti-copying law, more than 18,000 appointment letters were issued by the government without any dispute, a first in the State’s history. The results of the latest PCS exams show that about 90 per cent of the successful candidates are locals. This is also the first time when the State government has decided that all damaged roads, drinking water supply, school buildings and other facilities damaged during the rains will be repaired as soon as the monsoon ends,” Joshi said.
Targetting the opposition, he alleged that it does not care about the development of the State, employment for youth and the identity of Uttarakhand. “On the directions of their central leadership, the opposition parties are working on the anti-Hindu strategy of affecting the structure of Devbhumi,” he said.
Referring to the Haridwar incident in which a Muslim youth reportedly drowned in a pond while running away from the police checking for beef in Haridwar district, Joshi said that there are ample photos and videos of the man slaughtering cows known to the public. Challenging the Congress to clarify its stand, he said that it should state whether it supports those slaughtering cows.
