The spokesman of the Chinhit Rajya Andolankari Sanyukt Samiti (CRASS) Mahesh Joshi levelled allegations at the State government for its lack of seriousness in implementing the domicile policy. Joshi cited a recent incident wherein the permanent resident certificates of candidates selected for the nursing officer position in the Health department were found to be fake during an investigation. He expressed concerns about candidates from other states resorting to falsifying certificates to meet recruitment criteria, casting doubt on the validity of the permanent resident certification process. There is apprehension that even the permanent resident certificates issued from Tehsils in plain areas in recent years may be fabricated, he added.

He further informed about the state residents’ protest against the government for domicile 1950 Act. He alleged that the government is neglecting the pressing matters of the State and lacks consideration for public welfare. Presently, the younger generation in the State feels deceived, attributing the government’s inaction to being in a state of complacency, he opined. He emphasised the necessity for the government to prioritise domicile and enforce it rigorously to prevent any harm to the state. If the government fails to act promptly, they will escalate the agitation, he added.
