Joshi inaugurates Silk Mark Expo, stresses silk’s expanding market

In latest news from Doon, the cabinet minister Ganesh Joshi inaugurated the Silk Mark Expo hosted by Central Silk Board, the Union Textile Ministry and the silk department of Uttarakhand inaugurated the six-day Silk Mark Expo 2024. In his address, he said that with immense possibilities latent in silk, farmers and traders should increasingly come forward and earn good profit from it. “There is a huge demand for silk not just in India but abroad. Silk sarees and other clothes are exported and the government earns fair amount of foreign exchange from this,” he said.
Among those present during the inaugural programme was the managing director of the Uttarakhand cooperative silk federation limited Anand A D Shukla .
