On the expected lines, the veteran Congress leader and the State party vice-president Mathuradatt Joshi who had quit the party on Friday joined the BJP at a function held at the State party office on Saturday. Among the senior BJP leaders present were the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and the State BJP chief Mahendra Bhatt. Two other Congress leaders also switched to the saffron party at the same function. Notably, a few hours before Joshi joined the BJP, the State Congress leadership had expelled him from the primary membership of the party for six years for airing personal grievances to the media.
