In latest news from Doon, the State cabinet minister Ganesh Joshi visited the Government Doon Medical College and met the 12-year-old Nikhil Thapa who was mauled by a leopard while he was playing with friends in evening on the bank of Rispana along Canal Road within Rajpur police station limit. He inquired about the progress of the boy’s treatment and urged the doctors at the facility to take full care of him. The minister also directed the forest department officers to tranquilise and capture the beast at the earliest. He further informed that the boy’s family had been given an assistance amount of Rs 20,000 by the State government in line with the compensation norms.
