In a letter to the director general (DG) of State Police, journalist Gajendra Rawat has demanded that free, fair and time bounded inquiry should be conducted in the case of offending religious sentiments which is registered against him. The case against Rawat was recently registered in the Dalanwala Police station on the complaint of the media in charge of BKTC.

In the letter sent to the DGP, Rawat claimed that the media in charge of BKTC in a telephonic conversation had said that he was forced to file a police complaint by the BKTC chairperson Ajendra Ajay. Rawat said that Ajay has got a false case registered against him to threaten him and malign his image. In the letter Rawat claimed that a conspiracy is being hatched by Ajay. He said that his religious sentiment was hurt when the videos of Teerth Purohits were released on the social media in which they alleged that gold plates on the walls of the Kedarnath temple changed into brass. Rawat said that the role of the BKTC chairman should be investigated in the case.
