Welcoming the decision of the Uttarakhand government to set up a special investigation team (SIT) to probe the MBBS admission scam and fraudulent certificates of descendants of freedom fighters for admissions in medical colleges, the BJP leader Ravindra Jugran has said that strict legal action should be taken against the culprits involved in case.
He said that fake documents of Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, permanent residence certificates (PRCs) and EWS certificates were prepared by the culprits. Jugran said that complaints of fraudulent documents commonly circulate in the society for admission to government jobs, as well as medical and engineering programmes.
He stated that due to the manipulation of fake documents, deserving candidates are being deprived of benefits, while ineligible individuals are profiting. Jugran stated that in 2018, he filed a public interest litigation in the Uttarakhand High Court to expose similar fraudulent documents and scams. Subsequently, hundreds of private institutions and officials were jailed.
