Kafal, the delightful juicy berry of Uttarakhand has made an entry into the residence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had presented a box of these berries to Modi following which the PM has written a letter to Dhami expressing his gratitude for the gift.
“Received the juicy and divine seasonal fruit Kafal sent from Devbhoomi Uttarakhand. Nature has bestowed us with many of its gifts and Uttarakhand is rich in this respect as flowers, fruits and root vegetables having medicinal properties are found in abundance here. Kafal is one such fruit the mention of which is found in ancient literature of Ayurveda,’’ wrote the PM in his letter.
Modi added that Kafal is firmly rooted in the culture of Uttarakhand and it has been mentioned in many folk songs. He said that Kafal is quite popular among the tourists visiting the State. The PM said that the fruit grown in middle Himalayan regions is also providing economic strength to the local people due to its increasing demand.
Expressing gratitude to the PM for the letter regarding Kafal, the Uttarakhand CM said that the affectionate words from the PM on Kafal have enthused the people of the State.
