To recall, two maids of Nepalese origin, Anisha Rai and Pushpa, who came to work in the house of bullion trader Yashpal Malhotra, had made Yashpal, his wife and grandson unconscious by lacing their food with some poisonous substance with the intention of theft. But as Yashpal’s daughter had reached home, both the women had fled without committing the theft. On the complaint of Yashpal’s son-in-law Gaurav Kumar, the police had registered a case and started investigation. The investigation revealed that the accused Hira Lama and his wife had sent the maids to the job as part of a conspiracy.
