Ram Singh Kaida joining the BJP has come as a disappointment for some local leaders who were hoping for a party ticket from the Bhimtal constituency- Govind Singh Bisht and Manoj Shah being the main among them. His joining the BJP has dampened the preparations being undertaken by senior local BJP leaders Bisht and Shah for the 2022 Assembly elections.
According to local leaders, there was considerable disturbance in the local party cadre following talk of Kaida joining the BJP in the past. Political observers state that it will be interesting to see if the BJP workers in Bhimtal constituency accept Kaida. However, his joining the party is expected to fuel factionalism within the party at the local level.
