A new bailey bridge will be constructed considering the increasing number of people visiting Kainchi Dham. The Nainital district magistrate Dhiraaj Garbyal said this while visiting the popular
pilgrimage site in the district on Thursday. The DM said that Kainchi Dham will be developed according to a master plan. Observing the crowd of devotees, the DM pointed out that the crowding is exacerbated as there is only one route for entering the exiting the shrine. The condition of the existing bridge is not good. A bailey bridge will be constructed on a temporary basis soon. The survey work for this purpose has been completed and work on laying the bridge will be started in the near future to enable movement to the shrine from the bailey bridge.
The DM said that the old post office which is lying vacant will be used to set up a temporary police post especially to manage traffic movement during the tourist season. Garbyal said that people dirty the locations where they bathe in the Shipra river, adding that bathing in the river here is prohibited. He said that homework has been done on the master plan for Kainchi Dham and soon work will be started on it. He directed the sub divisional magistrate Paritosh Verma to ensure that all home stay operators and shopkeepers display rate lists in their establishments. Strict action will be taken in case irregularities are found, he said.
