Karnprayag violence unfortunate, pilgrims must also follow regulations: Bhatt

PIONEER EDGE NEWS SERVICE/Dehradun
Terming the violence in Karnprayag as unfortunate, the Bharatiya Janata Party has appealed to all sides to maintain peace and patience. BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt said that strict action will be taken against the guilty, while also advising pilgrims to maintain the law and order and Yatra guidelines. He also requested the opposition to desist from politicising the issue or encouraging confusion and rumours regarding this sensitive issue.
Bhatt told the media that the administration will ensure strict legal action against those found guilty in the incident. He said that in addition to following Yatra guidelines, the pilgrims should also observe patience in their behaviour. “Every devotee is respected in Uttarakhand but the authorities will act strictly against anyone indulging in anarchy or breaking the law and order. Like the Char Dham Yatra, the Hemkund Sahib pilgrimage is also important for us. Considering this, the local communities welcome the pilgrims responsibly with a sense of reverence. Along with the locals, it is also the responsibility of the pilgrims to exhibit decent and orderly behaviour. All must do their bit to send a grand message of Sanatan culture to the world,” he said.
Bhatt also objected to statements being made by the opposition regarding the incidents in Vikasnagar and Karnprayag, requesting that desist from politicising such sensitive issues. The opposition should not become a part of activities aimed at defaming Uttarakhand and spreading confusion.
