In latest news from Uttarakhand, the Kumaon commissioner Deepak Rawat conducted an inspection of an under-construction resort being built by illegally felling trees in Bajoon village. He came across several irregularities in the resort construction work and had it sealed. Rawat later said that he had conducted the inspection on receiving numerous complaints from the villagers. He also ordered actions to be taken against the forester under whose jurisdiction the forest comes.
