In latest news from Uttarakhand, the Kedarnath pilgrimage has been halted again after a 15 m stretch of the bridal path was swept away by massive landslides. However, the pilgrims who got stuck are being rescued through alternative routes. A district administration officer said that the pilgrimage by horse/mule to the shrine had been disrupted.
Police urged the pilgrims to stop and stay put where they currently are and added that they are rescuing those pilgrims who have got stranded near Junglechatti on a priority basis.
Though the monsoon session is about to end torrential rains are still lashing some places across the Kedarnath trek routes at regular intervals, halting the yatra to the shrine.
