In latest Uttarakhand news, warning boards have been put up at several locations in Kedarnath shrine, directing the pilgrims not to carry mobile phones and cameras inside the shrine premises. Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) office bearers said that those pilgrims found flouting these rules would be subjected to legal actions. Besides, the committee is mulling on enforcing dress code for the pilgrims in near future. The president of the committee Ajendra Ajay said that such prohibition is an imperative in view of the fact that the Kedarnath shrine is the spiritual centre of the devotees’ faith and reverence. “So, the practice of clicking videos and making them viral on multiple social media platforms is unwarranted as the contents of many of them negatively impact the sanctity of the shrine,” he said and added that the committee would enforce dress code for the pilgrims in the coming days. “The pilgrims should be decently dressed and only the spiritually inclined people should come on pilgrimage,” he said.
