In a blow to the Aam Aadmi Party (APP) and its leader and Delhi chief minister the minister Arvind Kejriwal, a Delhi court sent kejriwal to judicial custody till April 15 in the excise policy-linked money laundering case. Earlier, Kejriwal was produced in the special judge court of Kaveri Baweja after his custody under Enforcement Directorate (ED) ended. The ED had asked for 15-day judicial custody of the Delhi CM, citing Kejriwal’s uncooperative attitude towards the probe. Among those present in the court were AAP ministers Atishi, Saurabh Bhardwaj and Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal.
Notably, ED had arrested Kejriwal on March 21 and the next day, he had ben remanded in ED’s custody till March 28. Thereafter, the court had allowed the ED’s plea of extending his custodial interrogation till April 1.
