The Delhi chief minister and national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Arvind Kejriwal will visit Haridwar on Sunday to oversee the party’s preparations for the 2022 assembly elections. Considering his announcement of making Uttarakhand a spiritual capital for Hindus if AAP comes to power, the party head is expected to make big announcements in Haridwar too to woo more Hindu voters.
Addressing a Press conference in Dehradun on Thursday, the party spokesperson Naveen Pirshali informed that Kejriwal will be on a one-day visit to Haridwar on November 21. During his visit, he will participate in a roadshow of the party and will later hold a meeting with party members to oversee the party’s preparations for the upcoming assembly elections, informed Pirshali.
After the visits of two senior leaders of the party, deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia and Punjab MLA Bhagwant Mann to the state this week, this will be the third visit of another senior AAP leader within eight days. While Sisodia interacted with businessmen and industrialists to seek their support in Dehradun ahead of the elections, Mann also made seven promises like paying Rs 50,000 per hectare on damaged crops during his recent visit to woo the farmers.
Since Sisodia has recently announced that their chief ministerial candidate Ajay Kothiyal will contest assembly elections from the Gangotri constituency, Kejriwal is also expected to make big announcements on his fourth visit to the state, stated the party workers.
