Key industry players show interest in U’khand during Aero India 2021
The Uttarakhand delegation interacted with a number of key industry players during the Aero India 2021 event which concluded in Bengaluru on Friday. On the concluding day the Uttarakhand government delegation led by the coordinator (Defence Manufacturing), VS Rawat had a series of important meetings with potential investors working in the aerospace and defence manufacturing sector.
Rawat held a meeting with Airbus Industries India manager Namrita Chandi and Regis Antomarchi of Airbus Industries. The discussions ranged from support for opportunities in MRO in the aviation sector in Uttarakhand to proposed business models for promotion of Uttarakhand industries in the aviation sector to be included in global supply chains.
Vice president of Land Systems Safran Defense – a French global OEM, Sandeep Sud and Rawat held discussions on cooperation between industries from Uttarakhand and Safran in the field of defence manufacturing especially in electro optronics and electronics navigation systems. Safran has shown keen interest in cooperation with industries based in Uttarakhand. Rawat also interacted with chief of defence staff, general Bipin Rawat on the sidelines of Aero India 2021 and apprised him about the aerospace and defence manufacturing policy 2020 promulgated by the Uttarakhand government and sought the support of the armed forces in making Uttarakhand a global destination for defence manufacturing under the ‘Make in India’ initiative of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
