The president of Kumaun Garhwal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KGCCI) Ashok Bansal said on Wednesday that they are welcoming the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s initiatives to make things easier for the State-based entrepreneurs to acquire land for commercial initiatives. He said that his organisation had been vocal on the forbiddingly steep circle rates applying to non-agricultural lands to be acquired for commercial initiatives which stand eight times more than the rates applying to acquisition of agricultural land as per the circle rates announced by the State government in 2023.
He commended the State government’s recent decision to bring acquisition of non-agricultural land under MSME and subsequently, the circle rate to be applied on such purchase would be 50 per cent more than the circle rate applying to purchase of agricultural land.
Exuding confidence that the CM’s recent move would boost entrepreneurship in the State, increasing job opportunities for the youth, Bansal said that KGCCI was conveying its gratitude to the State government on behalf of the entrepreneurs of the State.
