The president of the Kumaun Garhwal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KGCCI) Ashok Bansal has welcomed the State cabinet’s decision in its meeting on Friday to exempt the upcoming industrial units from getting their maps approved by the local development authorities and to facilitate their map approval by the State Industrial Development Authority (SIDA).

Exuding confidence that the move to free the industrial units from the hassle of getting clearances from local authorities like MDDA would usher in a new era of industrialisation in the State, he said that it has sent a positive message to the entrepreneurs across the world and would motivate them to set up industries in the State.

While hailing the vision behind the two-day Uttarakhand Global Investors Summit that concluded on December 9 in Dehradun, Bansal said that industrialisation initiatives would not just increase revenue of the State government but also generate employment opportunities for the youth of the State which would help curb the migration from mountainous villages.

He further said that KGCCI had appealed to the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to rationalise the circle rates of the lands to be acquired for setting up industries.  He expressed the hope that the CM would act on this appeal of theirs soon.
