KGCCI stresses on uninterrupted power for industries

Kumaun Garhwal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KGCCI) organised a seminar on erratic power supply and other power-related issues in Kashipur. The superintending engineer, Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited, Kashipur, Arjun Pratap Singh was present. The general secretary, KGCCI, Nitin Agarwal presided over the seminar.
On this occasion, the KGCCI president, Pawan Agarwal said that to facilitate industrial development of the State, uninterrupted power supply must be ensured, adding that the industrial units have been facing numerous problems due to frequent power outages.
Shakeel Ahmed Siddiqui, in his address, informed that ever since smart meters have been installed in industries, they were receiving inflated figures.
The executive engineer, UPCL, Vivek Kandpal said that the errors in the smart meter bills have been removed to a large extent and small problems were being addressed, too.
Arjun Pratap Singh said that generation in the hydro power plants stops when it rains heavily.
