In order to establish coordination with various Central agencies working in the State, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has ordered the appointment of senior IAS officer Neeraj Khairwal as the nodal officer. Official sources informed that as the nodal officer, Khairwal will establish coordination with various Central agencies working in the State and review the works being undertaken by them. He will also provide cooperation and suggestions on behalf of the State to these agencies as and when required.
It is pertinent to mention here that this development comes at a time when the authorities are working round the clock to rescue 41 workers stranded in the partially collapsed Silkyara tunnel in Uttarkashi district. The National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) is the executing agency in this project.
