Veteran leader Mallikarjun Kharge is expected to get a very good lead over his rival Shashi Tharoor in Uttarakhand.
Though the Gandhi family has officially kept itself away from the selection of the candidates for the first non Gandhi President of the party in 22 years, the Congressmen understand that being the close confidant, Kharge enjoys support of the family.
This factor is expected to get good support for Kharge in all parts of the country and Uttarakhand is no exception. “Kharge is expected to get at least 80 per cent of votes in Uttarakhand,’’ opined a leader in the Congress Bhawan.
