Knowledge of AI, data science & robotics vital for today’s youth: Governor

The governor lieutenant general (retd) Gurmit Singh said that knowledge of new technologies such as artificial Intelligence (AI), data science and robotics is necessary for the youth. He said that by adopting these technologies, new opportunities for jobs and industries are developing rapidly.
He was delivering convocation address at Swami Rama Himalayan University on Monday.
He said that serving humanity is the duty of every human being. “Your education is not limited to getting a job, it is also a powerful medium to serve the society. No matter in which field you work, do not forget your roots. You have challenges in front of you, but at the same time there are many opportunities too,’’ he said.
Singh further said, “Technology is changing rapidly in this era. In the field of medicine, by the right use of technology, you can not only improve your future but can also play an important role in the progress of the country while serving humanity,’’ he said.
The Higher Education secretary Ranjit Kumar Sinha, the chairman of the Swami Rama Himalayan University Vijay Dhasmana, vice chancellor Rajendra Dobhal, principals, faculty heads, students and parents attended the convocation.
