The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and chief ministerial candidate of the party Ajay Kothiyal has accused chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami of misleading the public by making over 1,000 announcements without actually releasing mandate for their implementation at ground level. Addressing a Press conference in the party’s state office in Dehradun, he said that according to information received in response to an application under the RTI Act by Haldwani based activist Hemant Goniyan, Dhami has made over 1,090 announcements from July 4 to December 3 but had issued mandates only for 163 announcements. “The CM has made over 237 announcements in Public Works Department (PWD) but issued mandates for only 163.
He has made about 176 announcements in urban development and 146 under the irrigation department but has issued mandates for only four and 16 announcements respectively. Out of over 1,000 announcements, he has not issued mandates for over 900 announcements but still continues to create a stack of announcements just to deceive the public,” alleged Kothiyal. He said that Dhami is yet to take action on at least 85 per cent of his announcements according to the figures of the RTI report but he continues to make more announcements just to woo the public ahead of the elections.
