The Innovation and Incubation Centre and Directorate of Visiting Professors of Kumaun University hosted an expert lecture on technology development, technology readiness level (TRL) and commercialisation of lab techniques.
The keynote speaker Prof Nand Gopal Sahu helped the participants understand the commercial aspects of technological innovation and research in depth. He explained to over 100 participants how laboratory discoveries could be taken to the commercial level through science and technological innovations while sharing the success story of his team and told how they converted plastic waste into a ‘miracle’ material (graphene). He discussed the features of graphene and its applications. “At least 200 times stronger than steel and extremely light, it is being used in energy storage and water purification and drug delivery and polymer manufacturing,” he said.
A number of professors along with research students were present in the programme.
