Kumaon commissioner starts magisterial probe in Vanbhulpura incident

The Kumaon commissioner Deepak Rawat has started the magisterial probe into the February 8 incident of violence in Haldwani’s Vanbhulpura area. He asked people who want to record any fact, evidence or statement regarding the violence in Vanbhulpura to visit his camp office in Haldwani within seven days. The chief secretary Radha Raturi on Saturday directed Rawat to conduct a magisterial probe into the Haldwani riot that occurred after local administration demolished a madarsa allegedly built illegally on encroached land on February 8.
The State administration has asked the commissioner to submit his report within 15 days. As part of this probe, Rawat on Wednesday asked people to provide any kind of information they have regarding the violence in Vanbhulpura. They can visit the Camp office regarding the same from 10 AM to 5 PM on weekdays. Interested people can also contact the camp office at 05946225589. Rawat said regarding the probe that the matter is under investigation and a report will be submitted to the administration in the stipulated time.
