While on tour in Banbasa region of Tanakpur in Champawat district, the Commissioner of Kumoan Division Deepak Rawat took stock of the arrangements being made for the popular mela dedicated to the Mother Purnagiri. He visited the Sharda ghat and the mela ground. Also, he inspected the sites of the sports activities like rafting and paragliding near the mela ground. While speaking to the media persons, he said that all steps are being taken for the development of Sharda ghat as per the priority of the Chief Minister. He further said that all arrangements are being made to ensure that the Purna Giri mela goes off smoothly without the least difficulty for the pilgrims. Stressing on full development of the religious tourism, sports tourism and wild life tourism potential of the place, Rawat said that all arrangements are being made in this matter.
