Kumaun University and the Central Himalayan Environment Association (CHEA) signed a memorandum of understanding on Monday to boost academic cooperation in research and research-based development. The university registrar Dinesh Chandra and CHEA general secretary Uma Melkania signed the MoU on behalf of their respective institutions. In her address, Melkania said that CHEA is one of the earliest societies formed with focus on the environment and the livelihood of the people living in the Himalayan region. The university vice chancellor Diwan Singh Rawat stressed on the outcome of the research being brought to the ground to facilitate better life of the people.
