In latest news from Dehradun, the Governor Lieutenant General (Retd) Gurmit Singh who is also the Chancellor of the Kumaun University named the institute’s central library after Major Rajesh Singh Adhikari who embraced martyrdom during the Kargil War. While virtually attending a university programme being presided over by its vice- chancellor Prof Dewan Singh Rawat, the Governor said that the slain Major personified self-denial and sacrifice. He also mentioned the fact that Major was an alumnus of the DSB campus of the university. He exhorted the youth to derive inspiration from the supreme sacrifice of the Major on the altar of the nation’s integrity.
