KU’s Forensic Science students take crime investigation lessons

The MSc Forensic Science students are taught the tricks of crime investigation in the DSB campus of Kumaun University. Notably, MSc Forensic Science classes are being conducted in the campus since 2023 during which students are being imparted experimental skills and base programmes as per their curriculum. They are being taught theoretic knowledge of indoor investigation and outdoor investigation as well as experimental skills. Students are being taught to collect evidence from the crime scene and transport them to the lab, crime scene management science, photography science, sketch science and forensic and science lab, blood stain pattern analysis, said the department in-charge Nagma Parveen who teaches the tricks of finger printing, adding that they are also being taught to create outdoor crime scenes, collect evidence and report them. He further said that students are being taught the use of charcoal powder and chemicals prepared in the department for finger printing in indoor crimes.
