PNS/ NAINITAL
Kumaun University Teachers Association (KUTA) met the State Higher Education minister Dhan Singh Rawat here and submitted a memorandum, requesting him to ensure that the Uttarakhand government takes a decision to regularise the employees who have completed 10 years of service on the basis of the Uttarakhand High Court’s ruling. Later, KUTA functionaries said that they had also raised the issue of the salary discrimination before him. While most of the universities in the country give Rs 57,700 as salary per month to the professors in compliance with the University Grants Commission directive, the State-based universities and colleges are paying them just Rs 35,000 per month. They further told the minister that the Junior Research Fellowship amount is more than the salary of these professors.
The president of the union Prof Lalit Tiwari and its general secretary Prof Vijay Kumar led the delegation.
