In latest news from Uttarakhand, Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh has served a memorandum to the secretary of Construction Workers Welfare Board, demanding simplification of online and offline procedures to solve the problems being faced by the labourers in remote rural areas. Despite online processing contracts being given by the board to construction companies, the companies are able to make only five per cent of the cards online due to which the labourers are not getting enough works for their sustenance. The memorandum further stated that the workers have been facing problems due to non-appointment of permanent officer in the labour department. They requested the State government to do away with the online and offline process as the complexity involved in them are robbing them of works.
Speaking on this matter, the president of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sang Brijpal Singh said that procedural simplification would not just solve the workers’ problems but would also facilitate a sustainable and prosperous labour market.
