Teerth Purohits met the Garhwal commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey in Rudraprayag district on Thursday and discussed the issues of land acquisition in Kedarnath Dham. They presented their problems regarding the acquisition of land for the works being done under the master plan in Kedarnath Dham. Pandey told the delegation that the ongoing reconstruction work is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream project and the administration will work to resolve their issues regarding the project. He said that the government and the district administration are with the priests and it will be ensured that none of their rights are violated due to the project. There will be no discrimination of any kind due to the ongoing reconstruction work of Kedarnath Dham, said Pandey. An agreement was also signed with the delegation of Teerth Purohits on the spot. The commissioner also said that the administration expects cooperation from all stakeholders in this project to ensure all construction works get done smoothly and on time. Besides this, Pandey also reviewed the arrangements and facilities done by the district administration for the arrival of pilgrims to visit Kedarnath and Badrinath shrines during the ongoing Char Dham Yatra. The commissioner also received detailed information from the district magistrate Saurabh Gaharwar regarding the land acquisition and travel arrangements for the priests in Kedarnath Dham. He also directed the respective district officials to make all necessary arrangements to ensure pilgrims do not have to face any inconvenience during Char Dham Yatra.
