Land for Kumaon centre of AIIMS Rishikesh transferred

Called as dream project of CM Dhami, the tertiary care centre would come up on 100 acres of land in Kichha in Udham Singh Nagar
Paving the way for the construction of a satellite centre of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh for the Kumaon region the state government has transferred 100 acres of land in Kiccha, Udham Singh Nagar district. The AIIMS Rishikesh will soon start construction of the super specialty hospital (satellite centre) here. The setting up of a centre of AIIMS in Kumaon region is one of the dream projects of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami.
The process of transfer of land for the Kumaon Centre of AIIMS Rishikesh was completed by the state administration on Tuesday and the selected land has been handed over to the AIIMS authorities.
The dean of academics professor Manoj and deputy director of administration colonel (retd) AR Mukherjee took charge of the land on the day. The executive engineer Ajay Gupta and public relations officer Harish Thapliyal were also present on the occasion.
The executive director of AIIMS Rishikesh, Dr Meenu Singh said that a tertiary care centre would be set up on the transferred land within one to one and half years. She said that all types of super specialty facilities will be made available at this centre. Dr Singh said that the priority of the institute would be to provide all types of health facilities to the people of Kumaon division at the earliest.
