In order to attract a larger audience, the Ramakrishna Leela Committee Tehri (RLCT) 1952 will organise a laser show this year during the Ramleela. The president of RLCT 1952, Abhinav Thapar informed that the annual event aims to revive the traditional Ramleela of Old Tehri, which has been recreated at Azad Maidan in Dehradun. In keeping with this tradition, this year’s Ramleela will also be held in Dehradun and will commence on October 15, coinciding with the first day of Sharad Navratri, he added.
He further informed that this year’s Ramleela will feature a notable difference from past editions- the inclusion of a laser show, a special attraction that has never been seen before in Uttarakhand’s history. The laser show is renowned for its captivating nature and has been a major highlight in various world-famous locations. To incorporate this modern technology, the organising committee will utilise digital screens, a live telecast system and other digital technologies for an enhanced staging experience, he said.
Thapar added that in this Ramleela elements like Chaupai, story, dialogue and staging will closely resemble the old Ramleela of Old Tehri, which has been celebrated since 1952. This deliberate choice aims to maintain a strong bond between the people of Garhwal and Dehradun, he said.
