Latu Devta Mandir reopens amidst rituals & fervour
Wednesday, 24 APRIL 2024 | PNS | JOSHIMATHThe portals of Latu Devta Mandir in the Deval block of Chamoli district were reopened ceremoniously on Tuesday. A large number of people had gathered to witness the reopening of the temple of the deity considered to be the brother (Dharm Bhai) of Nanda Devi. Following traditional and religious rites, the priest of the temple, Kheem Singh Bisht opened the portals of the temple at 2:10 PM. The villagers rendered Jagars to the beats of Dhol and Damau, and also performed Jhoda and Jhumelo folk dances to celebrate the reopening of the temple. Devotees will be able to pay obeisance to Latu Devta here for a period of six months.
