Demanding the removal of the State’s director general of police, Mahara opined that in gross violation of law he had made the audio of his conservation with the parents of the Ankita Bhandari. He said that the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is on a Bharat Jodo Yatra from September which would pass through many States and two Union Territories. In the States which are not in the route of the Yatra of Rahul Gandhi, district wise Yatras are planned by the party. He said that apart from the national issues which are being raised by Rahul Gandhi, the State and local issues are being taken up in the Yatra. The PCC president said that the Agniveer scheme and its detrimental effect on the State are being discussed during the Yatra. He said that the Agniveer scheme would have disastrous consequences on the economy of the State and would increase the migration from the mountains.
