Padma Shri recipient orthopaedic surgeon Dr BKS Sanjay appealed to Members of Parliament to make laws to ensure quality health, education and nutrition to all at subsidised rate. He stressed that the quality of work depends on the quality of workers which depends on quality health, education and nutrition. He said this in an interactive session between Padma awardees and MPs inaugurated by Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla in the national Capital recently.
Dr Sanjay told the MPs that a ban on the use of hooters by the VIPs has ensured good sleep for the citizens sans the nuisance of noise from hooters, adding that good sleep is important for good health. Thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi for this step, he pointed out that overpopulation is the root cause of all ills and is depleting all natural and man-made resources. He appealed to the MPs that the message of the quotient being less than one if one is divided by more than one, should be ingrained in minds of all citizens. The Padma Shri recipient from Dehradun said that society had given a lot to him and now it is his duty to reciprocate. Expressing concern about road traffic accidents, he said that these are also increasing poverty and disability in the nation. In fact, road traffic accidents are a hurdle in achieving nation growth, he added.
