Laxity in Char Dham Yatra works & arrangements will not be tolerated: Kumar

On the directions of chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the State administration has started preparing for the upcoming Char Dham Yatra -2025. On Tuesday, the Health secretary and nodal officer for Bardinath Dham for the Yatra, R Rajesh Kumar visited Chamoli district.
He inspected the arrangements between Kameda and Badrinath on the Yatra route and took stock of the health facilities, condition of roads, parking facilities and the landslide prone areas. He also visited the registration and screening centres during his visit and gave necessary instructions to the officers concerned.
The secretary directed the chief medical officer to ensure that the lifesaving medicines, equipment and medical staff are available at all the health centres. He said that soon dialysis machines will be made available to Chamoli district.
He said that the 20 medical relief posts (MRPs) and 50 screening points will be set up from the Yatra route for better screening and treatment of the pilgrims. He said that health advisories issued by the State government in 13 languages will be distributed to all the pilgrims at all the screening centres and MRPs. Kumar said that the screening centres will be set up near the major bus stations to ensure health screening of the maximum number of pilgrims.
The secretary also inspected the Sirohbagad and Kameda slide zones and directed the officers that the work of metalling of roads in the Kameda zone should be completed in 20 days. He directed the officers to find a permanent solution for the Sirohbagad zone. On a stern note, he said that any disruption and blockade on the Yatra route is unacceptable. Further, he warned the officers to complete all the arrangements and pending works within the stipulated frame of time.
Kumar also directed the work execution agency to prepare a plan for permanent solution to the menace of the Pagalnala on the NH -07.
He said that the Char Dham Yatra is very important to the State from religious, tourism and economic point of views and the government is taking it up with all the seriousness it deserves. Kumar said that apart from the providing health services the focus of the administration is on disaster management, road, registration facility and the environmental balance.
During his visit the secretary warned the officers that laxity in the work will not be tolerated.
The additional district magistrate Vivek Prakash, Sub divisional Magistrate Rajkumar Pandet, chief medical officer Dr Abhishek Gupta, officers of Border Roads Organisation, National Highways Authority of India and others accompanied Kumar in the visit.
