A young man, Anukool Rawat (22), who worked in the Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS) department at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie, was found dead in his government quarters on Thursday.

The officials informed that Rawat was discovered hanging inside the room which was locked from the inside. They said that the police had to break open the door with the help of a carpenter to enter the premises. Rawat was reportedly dressed in women’s attire when the police found his body. The police brought down the body from the ceiling fan and the scene was documented through videography before an investigation began, as per the officials. They informed that Rawat, a native of Ufalda village in Pauri, had been living alone in the government accommodation. His family was notified soon after the recovery of his body.  They reached Mussoorie by the evening.

The officials said that it appeared during initial investigation that the deceased had committed suicide. However, the cause of death and the reasons behind the apparent suicide will be determined following a detailed investigation and post mortem report, the officials said. The body will be handed over to the family after completing all the required procedures as per the protocol, they added.
