With things progressing in perfect tandem with the ISRO spacecraft programme, the Chandrayaan-3 completed its orbits around the Earth on July 14 and was successfully propelled towards the lunar orbit, informed the national space agency sources and added that the next stop of the spacecraft is Moon. ISRO scientists are expecting that it would be inserted into the lunar orbit on August 5. Thereafter, it will keep circling around the Moon till August 16 and then the lander and the rover will separate from the propulsion module on August 17. And as per the calculation of the space scientists, it will have a soft-landing on the lunar surface at 5.47 pm IST on August 27. Notably, ISRO had successfully launched the Chandrayaan-3, laced with lander, rover and propulsion module, on board from Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Andhra Pradesh on July 14. If the soft-landing is successful, it will try to comprehend how quakes happen in the Moon and will also study the soil of the Moon.
