India’s legendary singer, Bharat Ratna Lata Mangeshkar passed away at the age of 92 today morning.
The singer was admitted at the Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai. She lost her battle to Covid-19 after undergoing multiple days of treatment.
Born in 1929 in Indore, Mangeshkar has sung many songs for Indian female actors. She is widely considered as one of the greatest and most respected playback singers in India. She has to her credit over 30,000 songs in different languages. In last week of January, the singer was taken off the ventilator, after she showed slight signs of improvement. From February 5, her condition deteriorated and she was back on ventilator support.
